The Paper Scissors` last gig…

One band I`ve been following over the last few years is Sydney band The Paper Scissors who have a distinct indie rock sound -unfortunately I discovered recently that they did they`re last gig a week ago. It`s a bummer for me because I missed them only by a couple of weeks having moved from Sydney to Japan for work… And I`ll always remember their video clip shot in a park down the road from where I used to live in Glebe…

Free Paper Scissors

Sydney indie band the Paper Scissors have release a free EP which I’ve been enjoying over the week. Their sound is getting more sophisticated with the infusion of synths and electronica. You can get a copy off their website:

Musical slugs…

I’ve been getting into a local indie radio station in Sydney called FBI which has the odd gem. One band I found interesting recently is called “Only the Sea Slugs” and they’re apparently playing in Sydney tomorrow night at the Oxford Art Factory… They have some cool atmospheric guitar and the track picks up with a good beat later on.

Floating Me made it into the ARIA award nominations

One of my favourite bands for 2011 has been Floating Me just for their dense harmonic atmosphere and interesting songs. I was excited to hear they got a nomination for an award at the Australian Record Industry Awards this year (the winners were Frong End Loader). Congrats anyway!
